A Capella Choir
We have started a new competitive A Capella team for boys and girls of all ages. We will compete locally, regionally and nationally. Plus, perform for live audiences at our showcases and concerts. Come try out your A Capella skills with The House of Music.
What’s A Capella?
When we say “a capella” is from the Italian language meaning “of the chapel”. In the “old days” church choirs sang without instrumental accompaniment. Today “a capella” no longer is restricted to churches. It simply means that vocalists sing together without the aid of a band or backing tracks — everything is done with the human voice. Featured on TV and movies, this style of singing, which oftentimes includes performing classics as well as current hits, has become a hit among teenagers, college students, and groups of people of all ages.
Our A Capella team will learn and perform music of different styles for competitions and audiences all over. The techniques learned here can apply to singing in other ensembles as well, both secular and sacred.
